New Restaurant Android TV Bug – Service Vendor: CenturyAV

< 1 min read

These TV’s have an embedded Android OS that run on them that come with pre-installed App’s, etc. When arrived at Oakville on-site 4/25 TV’s were stuck on this Android main page (attached photo). Using the remote control did not work on a lot of them, and even those where the remote worked, you basically couldn’t do anything. To restore the functionality to the TV’s we had to power cycle them.

CenturyAV technician contacted Viewsonic Support who are looking into what might be causing the issue. They also advised of a hidden debug menu that allows us to disable the android os altogether. The TV’s are now dummy TV’s with no special OS that boots up when the TV turns on. CenturyAV did this to every TV on-site, and verified all setting were the same.
